1 Information We Collect
Subscription data you enter — service names, amounts, renewal dates, categories, notes, and cancellation instructions are stored exclusively on your device in a local encrypted SQLite database (Room). This data is never transmitted to any server we operate, and we have no access to it whatsoever.
Preferences — your notification settings, default currency, and biometric lock preference are stored locally in Android DataStore on your device.
✓ Subscription Sentinel does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to us.
2 Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is supported by advertisements served by Google AdMob. To display relevant ads, Google’s SDK may collect and process the following from your device:
- Android Advertising ID (AAID) and app-set ID
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Device hardware and OS information
- App usage and interaction signals
Google’s collection and use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Subscription Sentinel has no control over, and receives no copy of, this advertising data.
How to opt out of personalised ads:
- Open your device Settings
- Go to Google → Ads
- Enable Opt out of Ads Personalisation
3 Third-Party Services

No other third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, or crash-reporting tools are included in the app.
4 Data Storage & Security
- On-device database — all subscription records live in a SQLite file protected by Android’s application sandboxing. Other apps cannot read it.
- Backup exclusion — the database and DataStore preferences are explicitly excluded from Android cloud backup and ADB backup via
backup_rules.xmlanddata_extraction_rules.xml. - Network security — the app enforces HTTPS-only connections (
cleartextTrafficPermitted="false"). Network access is used solely by the AdMob SDK. - Biometric / PIN lock — an optional lock screen can be enabled in Settings to require device authentication before the app content is shown.
⚠ If you lose your device, any subscription data stored in the app could potentially be accessed by someone with physical access. We recommend enabling the biometric lock in Settings and using a strong device screen lock.
5 Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, license, or share your subscription data with any third party. The only third-party data flow is advertising data handled directly between your device and Google AdMob as described in Section 2.
6 Children’s Privacy
Subscription Sentinel is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us using the details in Section 9 so we can address it promptly.
7 Your Rights & Controls
Because all subscription data is stored locally on your device, you retain full control at all times:

8 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will update the in-app Settings link so users are prompted to review the revised policy.
Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
